Information security makes mobile payments safer than a wallet
The network security of using a mobile phone as an e-wallet is improving all the time, according to one expert.

Simon Curtis, SVP strategic sales and business development manager for YES0Wallet.com, said that using a smartphone to make payments is going to be more safe than carrying plastic cards and cash around in a physical wallet.

Referring to security, Mr Curtis said that this will be dealt with by special councils, who will work in collaboration with mobile phone chip manufacturers, operators and service providers.

"Consumers may be concerned about having their cards in their mobile phone, but actually the mobile phone is going to be a safer place to have your cards than your existing physical wallet," he added.

Mr Curtis went on to say that card information will be stored in a highly secured environment which only the owner of the phone can access.

Recently, it was reported that near-field communication chip manufacturer Inside Secure has shipped over ten million units so far this year as the technology continues to grow in popularity.
