Acumin Consulting’s annual salary survey is the only salary index you need if you work in the cyber security sector. We provide a range of salary bandings for job titles in End User, Systems Integrators and Consultancies, Public Sector and Vendor organisations, alongside career path information and requirements for entry-level roles.
Here’s a snippet outlining sector changes and salary trends for both cyber and sales disciplines:
Whilst there has been salary inflation, on average between 1 and 2% for end user roles, the inflation is not as extreme as during the post-covid boom. Roles requiring the greatest experience, namely those in technical security, such as engineers and architects; those in detection and investigation i.e. digital forensics and incident response; and especially those in executive management e.g. CISOs and CSOs, have commanded the highest salaries. Crucially however, as shown in the graph above, the percentage increase for the aformentioned roles at the higher end of the salary range have seen the greatest increase in salary over the year, amplifying the discrepensy in compensation.
On the Vendor side, the salary inflation remains high at just under 5%, and in line with previous years. Conversly to the trend seen in end user roles, salary inflation is not proportional to salary in these roles hence the percentage increase is the same across divisions of sales, marketing and executive management.
It’s not just salary information and data, the Acumin Salary Survey 2022/2023 also contains a summary of the key challenges and topics that have affected the industry over the past 12-months, providing our unique take on how the market has changed; from recruitment trends to the latest certifications and cyber security threats.
