Cyber Security Challenge UK is seeing the best in new cyber talent in a bid to strengthen the UK’s bid for the European Cyber-Security Challenge in October.
Cyber-Security Challenge UK is in search of 10 candidates, between the ages of 15 and 29, who have demonstrated an exceptional ability in digital forensics, social engineering and codebreaking to compete with the best new talent in Europe. The competition will be held in Germany.
When the selectees have been confirmed, they will undergo tutorials and boot camp training, with support from a number of the major names in the industry. This should help with their competition preparation, as well as assist them in preparing for a career in the industry.
The competition will see the UK’s best lock horns with teams from nations like Switzerland, Austria, Romania, Spain and Germany.
Dr. Bob Nowill, the Chairman of The Cyber-Security Challenge UK Ltd, told SCMagazineUK.com:
“The Cyber-Security Challenge is a not-for-profit organisation funded by government and by sponsors. We work at scale and encourage people who may never have thought of cyber-security as a career choice to do so, through competitions, our gaming platform and other opportunities.”
The next generation of cyber talent has a crucial role to play in today’s cyber-led world, and protecting businesses is one of the more important tasks that they will have. Even so, businesses also need to recognise this and start taking their IT security recruitment strategies more seriously if they are to avoid the worst.
