With a £10,000 prize at stake, the NCC Group’s 10K contest is available to any groups or individuals with an idea to pitch that will help to enhance IT security.
International data assurance company NCC group will continue to invest in the next wave of IT security professionals by opting to sponsor its own Cyber 10K contest for the second year running.
The aim of the contest is to encourage creative approaches and new ideas in the IT security industry, as well as nurturing new and upcoming talent.
The winner will be awarded £10,000 to work on their idea, and will also receive expert advice and guidance from NCC Group security veterans.
The contest is looking for innovative solutions, technical or not, with the potential to test and raise awareness, as well as to modify present risky behaviours regarding personal and company data.
Rob Cotton, the CEO of NCC Group, said:
“Cyber 10K is our seed investment programme for innovative ideas in the area of cyber security.”
“We’re passionate about stimulating creativity in this arena, and want to do our part to help solve some of the real cyber security challenges that businesses and consumers face today.”
The next wave of cyber security talent has much to offer businesses in an age where cyber crime is a consistent threat. SMEs need to re-evaluate their IT security recruitment activity and ask themselves whether they are willing to invest in the talent out there. Being a victim of the next cyber attack would likely cost them far more.
