Job Title: Crypto HSM Security Consultants – 6 Months+ contracts
Location: Remote (with some on-site data center assessments as required)
Our client is a leader in financial technology, focused on providing secure solutions to safeguard critical data and ensure the integrity of financial systems. They are seeking an expert Crypto HSM Consultant to conduct thorough assessments of their data centers to evaluate existing cryptographic standards and enhance their security posture, as well as providing consultancy on crypto and HSM projects.
Role Overview:
As the Crypto HSM Consultant, you will assess, document, and analyze cryptographic standards and security measures within our data centers. You will play a key role in identifying gaps, ensuring compliance, and recommending improvements to protect sensitive data effectively. This position requires hands-on expertise in cryptography and HSMs and a solid understanding of industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
– Data Center Cryptographic Assessments: Conduct in-depth assessments of cryptographic standards and HSM configurations in data centers to evaluate compliance with security policies and industry standards.
– Standards & Security Review: Review and document existing security measures, including HSM setups, key management, and encryption protocols.
– Gap Analysis & Recommendations: Identify any gaps in cryptographic security measures, provide actionable recommendations, and develop strategies for addressing vulnerabilities.
– Collaboration & Reporting: Work closely with security, IT, and compliance teams to communicate findings, propose improvements, and ensure alignment with regulatory and security requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
– Experience: 5+ years in cryptography, with specific expertise in HSMs and secure data center environments.
– Technical Knowledge: Strong familiarity with HSM solutions (e.g., Thales, Entrust, Gemalto, SafeNet) and cryptographic protocols.
– Security Standards Proficiency: In-depth understanding of FIPS 140-2/3, PCI DSS, and other relevant cryptographic compliance standards.
– Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct rigorous assessments, identify gaps, and deliver detailed, actionable recommendations.
Preferred Skills
– Certifications in cybersecurity or cryptography (e.g., CISSP, CISA)
– Knowledge of cloud and hybrid cryptographic infrastructures
