Senior Cloud Security Consultant – Azure

Our client, a leading cyber security consultancy is seeking a senior Cloud Security Consultant with deep technical expertise in Azure and a strong client-facing background. As part of their Cloud Security team, you’ll work with a diverse range of clients to design and implement advanced cloud security solutions. With a focus on Microsoft Azure, you’ll apply best practices and industry-leading guidance to secure complex cloud environments. As a key member of our Cloud Security team, your responsibilities will include:
– Architecting and implementing secure cloud environments: Design, build, and maintain security controls and platforms across public and hybrid cloud infrastructures, focusing on Microsoft Azure.
– Identity and Access Management (IAM): Perform complex IAM tasks, ensuring secure user access and management across cloud environments.
– Integrating with Managed Security Services: Onboard clients into our Managed Security Service, ensuring seamless security monitoring, incident response, and ongoing support.
– Pipeline and solution evaluation: Assess and optimize client cloud security pipelines, identifying gaps and delivering improvements to enhance protection and efficiency.
– Cloud security best practices: Provide expert guidance on Azure security, multi-cloud solutions, and frameworks like DNC, CAFF, and SOC 2 Type 2, ensuring compliance and alignment with industry standards.
– Collaborating with technical teams: Work with internal and client teams to align security architecture with business needs, addressing risks and securing data and applications.
– Team leadership and mentoring: Support and mentor junior team members, contributing to their growth and guiding them towards taking ownership of key projects.
The ideal candidate will have:
– Extensive Azure experience with deep knowledge of its security features, including Azure Active Directory, Azure Security Center, and identity management solutions.
– Expertise in cloud security architecture and multi-cloud environments (AWS, Google Cloud experience is a plus).
– Proficiency in Identity and Access Management (IAM), encryption protocols, and secure authentication systems.
– Hands-on experience in SOC operations and security incident management across cloud platforms.
– Understanding of DevSecOps principles and experience integrating security into CI/CD pipelines.
– Advanced knowledge of cloud governance, risk, and compliance frameworks (ISO, NIST, CIS Benchmarks).
– Experience in securing complex cloud workloads, including VMs, containers, and serverless architectures.
– Familiarity with networking and security protocols in cloud environments (VPNs, VPCs, firewalls, load balancers).
– Strong client management skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
– Industry-recognized certifications such as Azure Security Engineer, CISSP, CCSP, or Certified Cloud Security Professional.
– Experience in SOC 2 Type 2, DNC, CAFF accreditation processes, and familiarity with multi-cloud security best practices.
