Application Security Engineers – Fintech

Leading global FinTech’s Application Security team is growing, and they are seeking a number of motivated application security engineers to help shape the future of security across the organisation. Collaborate closely with development teams, providing the tools and knowledge to build secure applications and make informed security decisions. These roles will help them to shape the future of application security and make a meaningful impact on global products.  These are key roles as part of a major security change and uplift programme of work across the organisation, with the chance to design and implement application security best practices, standards and frameworks.

These roles can be hybrid, 2 days per week in London, which can also be flexible.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct software security architecture reviews and threat modeling, identifying risks and recommending solutions.
• Design and implement security controls in CI/CD pipelines.
• Explain vulnerabilities and recommend remediation strategies.
• Develop secure design and coding patterns for engineers.
• Scale application security through automation and self-service tools, ensuring actionable insights.
• Align practices with PCI, SOC, GDPR, CCPA, and cloud security standards.

Experience Required

• Experience in threat modeling, security design, and architecture.
• Proficiency in a programming language and background in software engineering.
• Expertise in securing APIs and implementing authentication/authorization protocols.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and security technologies like SAST, DAST, and SCA.
• Strong collaboration skills for cross-functional initiatives.
• Java/.NET experience, payment industry knowledge, or PCI DSS expertise.
• Offensive and defensive security knowledge.
• Open-source contributions.
