Modern organisations need 'secure storage solutions'
10/05/2010
Modern organisations need to have secure storage and availability solutions in place, it has been claimed.
Data protection and security within a firm is "like a trusted group...it's so important to have a base that is an encrypted, highly secure, ruggedised platform," said David Tripier, chief marketing officer for IronKey, a USB-stick security company.
The company has found that "PC ubiquity", which is the ability to work across a number of different computer operating systems, thus increasing network security, "is really important" to the functionality of secure storage solutions.
During the financial crisis, cybercrime continued to grow, recent research has shown.
According to Symantec, there has been an increase in the number of targeted threats focused on enterprise, with attack toolkits making cybercrime easier to facilitate.
Those working in information risk management jobs should be aware that there has been a 100 per cent rise in the number of new malicious programs in 2009 compared with 2008.
