Secure Computing Corporation has combined with VMware to provide virtual firewall security for businesses.
The initiative will allow customers to implement and manage security for multiple virtual machines, or multiple applications within a virtual machine, through a single gateway.
Earlier this month, research firm Gartner said that virtualisation is the trend likely to have the greatest effect on IT infrastructure over the next four years.
Scott Montgomery, vice president of global technical strategy at Secure Computing, said: "These integrated VMware-virtualized applications offer substantial cost savings and simplify the implementation and overall management of security in our customers' virtual environments."
This week, the European commission (EC) issued a report to tackle the problem of online payment fraud.
It pointed out that online payment fraud is on the increase and educating and informing consumers about online payment practices is as important as the security technology put in place to deal with them.
