A security company has made a new browser virtualisation offering available, aiming to prevent computer users from accidentally downloading damaging material.

Check Point has released ZoneAlarm ForceField to offer protection to consumers, according to SC magazine.

The software attempts to rid malicious material, picked up through browsing or downloading, as soon as the user session is complete.

Laura Yecies, vice president of Check Point's ZoneAlarm division, said by virtualising the browser and adding active security layers, the software provides the highest level of security needed to stop attacks.

She added that use of the software, downloadable from Checkpoint's website, would not interfere with the user browsing experience.

Earlier this week, Microsoft addressed six vulnerabilities as part of its monthly patch Tuesday measures, including those affecting Windows Server 2008, in order to provide internet users with greater data security.
