Microsoft to patch system flaws

Microsoft has announced plans to release updates for three critical and one moderate vulnerability today as it aims to fix system flaws.
The software giant revealed on Thursday it will seek to repair problems with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Windows as part of its patch Tuesday measures.
If not remedied, the flaws could potentially be exploited to allow remote access to systems storing sensitive data, and also give hackers a platform to release malicious coding.
Bill Sisk, response communication manager for the Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC), made the declaration as part of an advance bulletin in a MSRC blog entry.
He said that while the updates were expected, all information was subject to change.
Five critical and three important flaws were remedied last month; including those affecting the recently-released Windows Server 2008.
