In a move which will see information security jobs saved at the network vendor, McAfee has announced it has agreed to purchase the firm for $465 million (£258 million).
The two companies have competed in the same markets and it is expected that Secure Computing with extend its rivals range of firewall products and other IT security products.

"We expect the pending combination of McAfee and Secure Computing will create an annual projected combined revenue of just under $500 million in the network security segment of our [security and risk management] portfolio," he added.
A study by security firm SecureWorks has found that the US and China are the top two countries in the world for botnet attacks.
