Government websites hacked

Many valid websites, including UK government and United Nations sites, have been hacked to provide a base for malware, according to a technology researcher.
Following a study, Websense concluded that the attacks are related to large-scale malicious injections which were identified at the start of this month, but this time the hacks are coming from a different hub.
"This mass injection is remarkably similar to the attack we saw earlier this month. When a user browses to a compromised site, the injected JavaScript loads [an infected] file," said the security provider in a statement.
Websense added that a wide range of sites had been affected, including those run by the UK government and the UN[n1] .
The news follows reports by Norman Data Defence Systems last week highlighting a 'spear' phishing attack targeting chief executives whereby they received a subpoena saying that they would be sued and were required to use an infected plug-in device to view the relevant documents.
