Google has launched an internet security tool to help protect businesses against malware attacks.

Writing on the web giant's official blog, product marketing manager Tim Johnson said that the product would enable organisations to monitor their online policy and control how employees use the internet.

"With this new feature, all off-network users' web traffic is automatically directed to scanning infrastructure to enforce [company] policies and protect their computers, requiring no action on the part of individuals," he added.

Mr Johnson went on to say that the technology is now available in the North American and European markets.

Earlier this week information technology giant Mozilla announced it had released plug-in software infected with malware into the market.

The company admitted that its Vietnamese language pack for Firefox Two contains inserted code resulting from a virus infection and that everyone who had downloaded the product since February 18th, 2008 received an infected copy.
