Windows 7 'must deliver success for Microsoft'
21/10/2009
Windows 7 needs to be a success for Microsoft after the "much maligned" Vista, according to an expert.
"They're fighting a bitter war with Apple for consumer confidence," said Simon May, author of The Rough Guide to Windows 7.
Although Windows isn't Microsoft's only big product, it is nevertheless "key to its reputation", he commented.
Mr May expressed his belief that Windows 7 is a "very good" product and marks a "return to form" for the software giant.
Meanwhile, a new report from Microsoft may have given a major boost to those working in the technology and information security recruitment industries.
The study, published jointly with International Data Corporation, suggested that IT employment will grow by more than three per cent per annum until 2014 - more than three times the overall employment growth rate.
