New book 'summarises' information security framework

IT sector professionals working in information security jobs may benefit from the publication of a new best practice compliance guide written by a leading electronic business expert.
Thomas Smedinghoff's book entitled "Information Security Law: The Emerging Standard for Corporate Compliance" provides an overview of laws and identifies emerging global standards for corporate compliance.
It is hoped that senior security managers and legal professionals in the IT field may benefit from a greater understanding of information security governance.
Alan Calder, chief executive of publishers IT Governance, describes the book as the first concrete attempt to summarise the global legal framework for information security.
He stated: "Given the interconnectedness of global markets, this is naturally where compliance professionals and lawyers need to be focusing their efforts. It is very clear that the law is this area is in a state of rapid flux."
According to IT Governance, information security is a topic with global significance, as virtually all a companys daily transactions rely upon "an interconnected information infrastructure".
