New data protection security appliances
22/06/2010
In order to improve data protection and prevent data loss, Blue Coat Systems has brought out a new line of security appliances.
The company said its new product line would aim to stop data loss with a combination of internal management tools and web and network security protections in a single appliance.
There will be components such as data fingerprinting and file management to help reduce the information security risk involved in web-based attacks, as well as managing network traffic.
The new system from the company is expected to be more secure than others and it can be deployed far quicker than other data loss systems.
"By extending the Blue Coat Secure Web Gateway solution to include our new DLP [data loss prevention] appliances, we now provide our customers with layered, comprehensive security that prevents malicious content from entering the network and sensitive content from leaving the network," said the company's president of product marketing Carrie Oakes.
Recently, the Information Commissioner's Office confirmed that the NHS had been reprimanded over further data protection breaches in the organisation.
