IT employment 'set for 2010 boost'
05/03/2010
Brits seeking network security jobs are set for a boost in opportunities in 2010, it has been claimed.
There will be an increase in IT employment, particularly as larger organisations begin upgrading their systems, according to the Association of Recruitment Consultants.
Chairman of the group Adrian Marlowe explained that there has been a definite increase in work across IT departments. Having "laid low for 18 months or so", they are keen to secure business continuity and information security.
He added: "We are a bit cautious about whether this increase in employment is going to remain a continuous trend, and the reason we say this is not to be negative.
"People are worried about the forthcoming election."
His comments follow the release of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation and KPMG's Report on Jobs, which indicated that there was a strong rise in permanent placements in February, although increases in temporary and contract staff billings were slower.
